STUDENT AND FACULTY CHOREOGRAPHY PREMIERES
AT THE LSU DANCE CONCERT

Baton Rouge, LA - The Sixth Annual LSU Dance Concert, directed
by Molly Buchmann, will showcase LSU Department of Theatre's dance
students and faculty in new works choreographed specifically for
this event. This year's event will be one night only -- April 30,
2005 at 7:30 PM, in the LSU Union Theatre. Tickets are $6 for students
and $8 for seniors and adults.
"This year's program will feature eight student choreographers,
the most the concert has ever had, said Buchmann, who heads up LSU's
Dance program. These choreographers lead a large group of talented
dancers known as the LSU Dance Ensemble. Dancers this year have
performed with the Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre and Twin City Ballet
(Monroe, LA). There will also be guest appearances from the LSU
Hip Hop Coalition.
While the dance concert is an entertaining evening for audiences,
it also gives dance students valuable performance and production
experience. The students have the opportunity to fully produce their
works in a theatre complete with lighting and sound.
Assisting Buchmann with this year's concert are Kathleen Spinazzola
and Susan Perlis as Associate Directors and Keri Bourg, a jazz instructor
at LSU.
