LSU THEATRE PRESENTS THIRD ANNUAL OUTWORKS FESTIVAL
The 2008 Outworks Festival, which opens January 22, promises both madcap comedy and intense drama. The plays will be split into two three-play bills that will perform on alternating days. The festival will run through January 26 with performances at 7:30 pm, and on Sunday, January 27 at 2:00 pm. Also on Sunday, a special performance of all six plays will be performed at 7:30 pm.
The six one act plays were chosen from a totally of 160 submissions nationwide, and include:
Bill A
Call Girl by Carol Mullen, directed by George Judy
Dog Tag by Anne Bertram and Matthew A. Everett, directed by Joshua Toups
Where Things Are by Steven Schutzman, directed by Christopher Krejci
Bill B
Lesbian Nightmare by Corinne J. Kawecki, directed by John Mabry
The Heinrich Maneuver by Mark Harvey Levine, directed by Lindsey Lanson
Liberal Arts by Don LaPlant, directed by Vastine Stabler
The directors for this year’s productions range from two faculty members to two graduate students and two undergraduate student. The varied plots include a queer spy versus spy, campus controversies, a birthday party from hell, a dog's eye view of relationships, lovesick phone sex operators, and the lesbian nightmare.
The show is part of the LSU Department of Theatre Studio Season. All tickets are $6.00 (suggested donation) and only available at the door. This production is supported in part by the LSU Student Performing Arts Fee.
