Jim Bussolati
Professional-in-Residence (Props Master)
Jim Bussolati joined the LSU Theatre Program in 2003. Jim received his B.S. from the University of Southern Mississippi, Gulf Park Campus, and his M.F.A. in Design and Production from North Carolina School of the Arts. Prior to coming to LSU, he worked for Custom Rigging Systems as an installation supervisor, and personally supervised the installation of counterweighted theatrical rigging systems. He also worked as Prop Master with The Blowing Rock Stage Company and The Piedmont Opera. Jim also has worked with North Carolina Scenic Studios and Unlimited Scenery Studios building and painting scenery. Locally, Jim works frequently with Playmakers and other local theatres as Prop Master for their productions. Some recent shows include The Little Mermaid, Babes inToyland, and A Christmas Carol. He has also worked on Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre’s production, The Nutcracker A Tale from the Bayou for the last four years. In his spare time, Jim can sometimes be found downtown at the Baton Rouge River Center working on various productions and even stage-managing some of the spring dance recitals.
